The US Pecan Growers Council, head quartered in Tifton Ga and headed up by Janice Dees, submitted a funding request to the American Pecan Council, requesting funds to continue to develop foreign markets and grow the demand for pecans in various countries that the organization has identified as having good potential for pecan consumption. The markets include China, India, South Korea, Turkey and Vietnam. The US Pecan Growers Council has in country representatives in some of these markets already and continues to participate in trade shows targeting each of the markets along with inbound and outbound trade missions.
