As the US Pecan harvest draws nearer many growers are putting on, what they hope to be some of the last sprayings of the season. While accumulators and shellers visit orchards and growers to gauge the crop load this year, the pecan pieces market has been quietly inching upward. It looks like demand from the EU is the engine pushing pecan pieces prices higher. However with an expected shorter overall pecan supply, many buyers are showing up early to ensure they get their pecan contracts filled.
