Pecan Conference Season Kicks Off Next Week

The pecan industry has fared well during the pandemic, while many businesses and industries  have made drastic and costly changes and moved to minimal capacity, the pecan industry has been able to make slight adjustments on the farm and in the shelling plants without missing a beat. While the consumption of food did shift gears, being a health food, pecans saw an uptick in consumption. But not all aspects have remained business as usual.

Annual pecan trade shows and conferences around the country in each of the local markets have been completely stopped, being large gatherings where growers come together to discuss current affairs, test out new equipment and hear from industry experts, the organizers decided to wait until it was safe to resume in person meetings and large gatherings again.

Well, that day has finally arrived. As more of the US population gets vaccinated and herd immunity builds, pecan conferences and trade shows are finally back, and growers are excited, or at least this one is. Trade shows are always a fun time to meet new growers and catch up with old friends.
