Most pecan growers in the southeast region of the US have completed cleanup from the high winds of tropical storm IRMA, and have begun harvest. The earliest pecan crops have just come in and prices are off to a strong start. The Pawnee (PWN) pecan is one of the earliest pecans to hit the market every year, and this pecan season is no different. With spot sales just beginning Pawnee (PWN) growers say they are pleased with prices. The recent storm damage has had a significant impact on the quantity of the crop, taking an estimated 30 million plus pounds off the market, but the quality is still very good with average Pawnee (PWN) yields around 57% and higher.
