The American Pecan Council is hard at work in Dallas today at meetings discussing the future of the American Pecan Industry. American Pecan Council board members held training meetings on Monday along with a special governance meeting to discuss various industry issues and concerns. One of the concerns was voiced from pecan growers in smaller producing areas wanting more of a voice in the APC, several board members suggested that the APC invite the growers to join committees that interest them and also made an open invitation to all US Pecan growers to get involved and join the APC committees as well as attend the meetings. Today’s meetings will consist of council vacancies, staff reports, APC financial reports, and many other items. The agenda can be found at the link below. The APC will be holding meetings until 5:30pm today. We will keep you updated on any developments that occur.
