APC Makes Pecan Data Accessible

The American Pecan Council has been an operation and collecting data since 2016, while the early data is not as robust as what we currently have, collection efforts began in that time period.

Current data offers more insight into the monthly ebbs and flows of the pecan market while earliest days of data collection were less informative. As the organization matured and received feedback from growers, data became more valuable, but not easily accessible.

Today, that is not the case. As someone who regularly accesses and uses the data I recently visited a page on the APC’s website that made me smile. Under the “FOR INDUSTRY” section of the sites menu you can find a section named “Dynamic Graphs and Reports” and on that page you can find a myriad of charts, graphs and data.

Even more importantly they have offered the data in an easy to use format allowing industry to utilize that data at will. This is in my opinion one of the single best actions taken by the organization to date. I would like to thank Ms. Ann Warden and her staff for offering this to the industry.

I realize this may seem trivial to most readers, however I would argue that most readers have no idea the efforts taken by Ms. Wardens predecessor’s to hide and manipulate data at will, so to now have access to data without numerous hurdles blocking access is refreshing, appreciated and a big step in the right direction for this industry.

I encourage you to check it out at your leisure at the link below.
