The world pecan market has been a mystery to most of the participants, especially the producers of the pecans in the sense of knowing anything about supply and demand statistics. However, that is slowly changing with the formation of the American Pecan Council. With the newly appointed director, Alexander Ott, at the helm the American pecan industry is now finally receiving data about its product. Recently the American Pecan Council released end of year reports showing a wide array of data points including export markets and destinations which will finally allow the industry to track and nurture growth in countries that purchase pecans. The American Pecan Council tracks both in-shell pecans and shelled pecans and their export destinations. While currently not reporting on domestic consumption the data for the export markets is quite detailed and robust. We have put together a few graphs using the data provided by the American Pecan Council to show you just what the data looks like.
