The American pecan industry will be entering its annual conference season this week beginning with the Southeastern Pecan Growers Association kicking off its 113th Annual Convention & Trade Show in Panama City Beach Florida this Friday for the growers in the southeastern US. The SEPGA includes the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Louisiana. The SEPGA will hold its meeting on February 21-22, 2020.

Following right after SEPGA the Western Pecan Growers Association will hold its annual conference beginning Sunday March 1st until Tuesday March 3, 2020. The conference will be held in Las Cruces, NM at the Hotel Encanto. The conference will hold educational meetings and updates from pecan industry experts with topics ranging from orchard management to pecan tariff’s and everything in between.
WPGA March 1-3, 2020
Shortly after the WPGA Conference the Georgia Pecan Growers Association will hold its 55th Annual Conference at the UGA Tifton-Campus Conference Center on March 24th 2020 and will host a huge gathering of growers from all over the surrounding states. The conference will host vendors and service providers for the pecan industry and will of course give educational talks for attending pecan growers.

The following month the American Pecan Council will hold its 3rd annual Pecan Congress, where all American pecan growers are invited to attend the council meeting as well as the Pecan Congress meeting designed to allow pecan growers from all states to engage with the American Pecan Council and staff.

The American pecan industry is spread across the entire southern US and has a very diverse group of pecan growers, the meetings each year allow all of us to meet, share ideas and move the industry forward as a collective group of producers. Definitely one of my favorite times of year.
