As this 2017 crop year progresses along we face common challenges in various parts of the US, and one of those challenges is the pecan spittlebug. The pecan spittlebug has been a pest that we growers have to deal with on a yearly basis. Mr. Lenny Wells of the College of Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia recently posted about pecan spittlebugs and what measures that pecan producers should take when the pecan spittlebug shows up in their orchards. You can find the link to Dr. Lenny Wells article here. I also found a good article about the life cycle and other good information about pecan spittlebugs here.
